Pump and Pump System  Engineer

Here is an opportunity for a supportive and proactive professional to work in an exciting, fast-growing company.

Dura Pump is successful because we set out to solve problems for our customers, not just to ‘do a job’. This means thinking beyond the pump itself to the whole system, making sure what we offer is the most effective solution. We are looking for a mechanical, electrical and controls engineer who thinks this way, who shares our values, and who can help us to continue our problem-solving work.

Your role

Your role will revolve around pumps, inverters, control panels, pipe work and wiring. You will be responsible for work including:

  • On-site repairs
  • Workshop repairs
  • Call outs
  • Trouble shooting to avoid failed systems
  • Building systems in the workshop
  • Electrical and mechanical work
  • New installations on site

Your experience & knowledge

Experience of working on sewage, wastewater pumps, centrifugal pumps, booster sets, pump stations and inverters would be essential

You will need some knowledge of electrics.  If you have mechanical, electronic and controls knowledge including inverter programming, PLC programming, electrical fault-finding, control systems and wiring it would be ideal, however if you are the right person without it, we will train you for this part of the role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, to build great relationships with customers and fellow team members are a key part of how we work. You need to be a disciplined person who can organise and manage your own workload, and know when to bring in support from the team in order to give the customer the best result.

Further information

You work base will be here in Northampton, and you will visit an interesting variety of locations across the country.

We are a team of 12, which includes five engineers based in Northampton.  You will be involved in weekly engineering meetings and monthly staff meetings where we need you to assert your ideas so you can help us shape the way forward and support our continuous drive for improvement.
