End suction pumps are the most widely used pump in the world and are simple, effective and reliable. In a standard set up water enters the pump via a horizontal pipe, goes through the impeller and – using centrifugal force – is flung out a vertical discharge.
End Suction Pumps are generally suited to transfer and high flow applications. Pressure can be limited as they typically only have one impeller. Multistages are available to overcome this. The most common uses include water, sewage, agriculture, petroleum and petrochemical pumping. Centrifugal pumps are often chosen for their high flow rate capabilities, abrasive solution compatibility, mixing potential, as well as their relatively simple engineering.
Typical use for these pumps are:
- Recirculation pumps
- Cooling water pumps
- Water transfer pumps
- Heating pumps
- Fire fighting
- General industrial pumps
- Process pumps
- High temperature applications up to 350 degrees C
