The Challenge
Replacing a failed vessel to restore system pressure stability
During a routine service visit, engineers found the site’s 400-litre pressure vessel solid sounding and full of water, a clear indicator of internal bladder or diaphragm failure. A failed pressure vessel can no longer absorb pressure fluctuations across the pump system, increasing the risk of pressure surges and additional stress on connected pumps and pipework. Replacement was recommended rather than repair.
The Solution
- Engineers attended site, safely isolated, drained down and removed the failed 400-litre vessel.
- A replacement 400-litre vessel was supplied and installed.
- Mechanical connections were carried out to reinstate the vessel within the pressurisation circuit.
- The vessel was charged and set to the correct operating pressure, then tested and commissioned.
