Industrial Pump Controls
What is a pump control panel? Pump control panels are used on pump systems to control the action of the pumps or fluid flow. This can be for basic level control or high level alarm, to a multi-control variable speed system linked into the building BMS or SCADA system. They are used for automatic control, warnings, system and pump protection, connectivity, and remote monitoring.
The correct pump controls and protection on pump systems can save thousands of pounds, in repairs, downtime, engineer attention, and protect the company from emergencies and environmental spills/contamination.
The pump control panel is used for many applications that Dura Pump can support. The common ones are:
Remote monitoring
The Velocity SenSync Alert system enables you to monitor your site remotely or from the comfort of your office. It sends messages via text or email as a result of an alarm, fault, or notification on the system. This provides early warning to prevent failure, breakdown, or flooding.
Clean Water Pump Controls
Clean water control systems are mainly used to monitor tank levels, auto tank changeover cycles, pump protection and alerts. This helps with legionella control and prevents stagnant water.
Booster sets and fire sets are the main clean water pump system that uses control panels. The pump control panel monitors the outgoing pressure from the set, then controls the pump’s speed or the number of pumps being used accordingly, as well as rotating the duty. The Dura Pump SenIQ smart intelligent control can be use to control multiple pumps and can be retrofitted along with the Velocity SenSync remote monitoring functionality.
Heating and Cooling Pump Control Panel
Heating and cooling controls on the circulation pumps are used to determine which pump to run. They feedback to the building BMS system and provide overload protection. Advanced variable speed or inverter-driven controls can provide energy saving by monitoring the system pressure, differential pressure, or temperature, then adjusting the speed of the motor/pump to the demand of the system. This can save between 30% to 60% in energy.
Wastewater Controls
Wastewater pump controls, monitor the levels, auto pump change over, pump protection, and alerts. They can also be integrated into the building BMS or SCADA system. Measuring the level can be challenging due the debris in the liquid, turbulence and buildup of Fats, Oil and Grease on the surface. There are various ways to measure the level with one of the latest being radar (link to radar on accessories page) with is highly reliable.
