Ensuring a Steady Water Supply at a Premier League Football Stadium
The Challenge
A constant supply of water is critical for all major events. This premier league football stadium had also started hosting concerts and events. With a maximum capacity of around 50,000, they required an uninterrupted water supply to ensure smooth operations and attendee safety. Maintaining consistent water pressure is essential to avoid disruptions, particularly during large-scale events.
The Solution
To address this, Dura Pump installed a new variable speed triple booster set along with a large cold water storage tank to feed the existing header tanks. The new tank and booster set were designed to be installed under a stairwell to utilise some free space.
Our engineers also installed a bypass system which allows the new system to be isolated when the stadium is out of season. This ensures continuous operation with the original system during periods of lower demand. All new pipework was lagged to prevent freezing during colder seasons.
The Outcome
The new system was successfully installed and fully operational before a major concert at the stadium. We are pleased to report that the concert proceeded without any issues.
With events like these getting larger and more frequent, a stadium’s current water pressure and supply might be insufficient. It may require attention to provide a trouble-free experience for football fans and concertgoers alike.
