Portable Solutions for Food Supplement Manufacturer
The Challenge
An existing customer contacted the team as they required a pump which would have batching capabilities. This pump was needed to be able to move barley extract from IBC’s and onto their system.
The new pump had to meet some strict requirements such as the amount of media it pumped per minute, the pump speed, as well as the essential requirement for the customer to be able to control the pump from a control panel.
This all seemed a fairly standard operation, but the customer’s requirement for portability presented a new challenge for the Dura Pump team.
The Solution
In order to meet and exceed the customers’ requirements, we specified a Seepex Progressive Cavity Pump: a hygienic pump with flow meters and flow controls linked back to a control panel.
With the customers’ requirements clear, we started to design an optimised system complete with a stainless steel trolley to meet essential food grade standards.
By ensuring precise measurements were recorded, we were able to rapidly install the pump and all supporting accessories with no issues, resulting in a compact piece of equipment purpose-built to our customer’s specification.
The Outcome
The end result was a happy customer – the best result there is. The upgraded system met their key requirements of being able to pump their liquid at the exact amounts needed. Another notable benefit for the customer was portability as they could move the system around their production facility.
As the customer was able to dispense the viscous fluid into a mixing vessel at a constant steady rate – the end result was maximised mixing efficiency and minimal wastage.
