We provide systems for the storage, attenuation, monitoring and treatment of surface water. Interceptors, or separators, provide an important role in the creation and maintenance of safe, environmentally friendly and efficient water systems
- Vehicle wash silt traps
- Fuel & Oil separators
- Attenuation Tanks
- Bypass & full retention interceptors
- Grease traps
Benefits & Features
- Small units are a vertically configured pollutant trap, sediment and light liquids separator suitable for low-risk applications. Typically polyethylene or fibreglass units, and are designed for use in stormwater drains.
- Separates and captures pollutants, sediments and light liquids (petroleum hydrocarbons).
- Pipes are sized to suit specified flow rates.
- Available with a vortex cleaning action, which assists in preventing pollutants from discharging.
- Litter and heavy refuse capture: Stormwater is treated with the sediment, heavy refuse and gross pollutants captured in the chamber.
- Bypass: In high-flow conditions and if storms persist, the tank contains a bypass operation preventing ‘back up’.
- Light liquid separation: Light liquids rise to the top of the separation region of the Ecoceptor chamber.
- Maintenance. Easy easy access through the manhole cover to all parts for desludging. Simple cleaning procedure for vacuum loaders.
- Installation. Tanks, being factory-made fibreglass or polyethylene (depending on size), provide for light and easy manoeuvring and substantial labour savings for site installation.
- Transportable. Light self-contained tanks for low transport and cranage costs.
- Above and below ground installation options
Description
An interceptor is essentially a large trap that is installed within an underground water system network to filter pollutants from runoff before they enter a watercourse or stream.
Typically, they are installed where there is a lot of surface overflow e.g. car parks, loading yards and commercial buildings.
Although most runoff is predominantly water that results from weather conditions such as rain or snow, there are many factors that can alter the amount or content of the spill being filtered through interception systems.
There are several things that can impact runoff, typically from where the run off is coming. For example a large car park or commercial yard can have substantial traffic film, oils or other chemicals a vehicle may have attached to it.
Interceptors and water attenuation tanks are typically manufactured in plastic or GRP
