A submersible pump is a self-contained unit with a built-in sealed motor, which pumps effectively when completely submerged in fluid. Submersible pumps are used in a variety of applications including sewage and drainage.
- Most common Uses: Sewage, Foul, Effluent & Storm and drainage water
- Vortex, Grinder/cutter, Macerator & Channel impellers
- From sump pumps to flood defences
- Free standing or guide rail mounted
- We can Supply, install, upgrade, repair and maintain
A submersible pump, also commonly known as a sub pump or sump pump, is a device which has a water tight seal to the body and motor of the pump.
This means the whole pump can be submerged into the fluid, which then pushes fluid to the surface. This pump would be used alternatively to using a pump with a much larger motor that pulls the fluid to the surface, as submersible pumps are more efficient.
Benefits & Features
- Large range and options available to suit your application
- Effective, efficient and energy efficient – as pump is submerged, less energy is required compared to a suction pump
- Able to move high volumes of water quickly, and typically almost silent when installed in a pit.
- Cost effective solution
- Simple installation from free standing to guide rail mounted
- Regular maintenance required
- No priming required – as pump submerged it is already primed
- Corrosion resistant materials used due to being constantly submerged in liquid
Ranges available
- Standard sizes from 0 to 500l/sec
- Standard sizes from 0.25kw to 55kw
- Large applications up to 8000/sec
- Larger applications up to 750kw
