The Challenge
A large specialist NHS hospital in Harrow, North London that specialises in orthopaedics was suffering as a result of persistent issues with an old Hamworthy pressurisation set. Hospitals, like many other institutions in the healthcare and social assistance sector, are busy places with thousands of members of staff doing hundreds of different jobs while offering vital services to millions of patients every single year.
The hospital needed a system with a reliable performance that would provide peace of mind so that staff could focus on important services with the best levels of hygiene, welfare and flow output guaranteed. As the old system kept dropping into fault and losing pressure, the Dura Pump engineers needed to supply a reliable solution that could keep the hospital on track.
The Solution
Our engineers attended the site to deal with a breakdown, and it became clear that the system had reached the end of its life. The system itself was no longer economically viable to continue repairing and a complete replacement would be the most effective solution.
After assessing the demands of the hospital, our engineers supplied and installed a new floor-standing twin-pump Flamco Flexfiller 225D pressurisation set. These units are ideal for commercial or industrial applications and come with a built-in 18-litre break tank. The compact design and totally enclosed digital pressurisation units with electronic pressure transducer and user-friendly microprocessor make it the perfect solution for the busy hospital.
The Outcome
As we keep a large variety of pressurisation sets in stock, we were able to deliver and install the Flamco Flexfiller 225D quickly to prevent further breakdowns that could potentially cause downtime and welfare issues for the hospital. The NHS hospital now has a newly installed pressurisation set that will prevent breakdowns, low pressure and offer long-term reliability for years to come.
