Leisure Parks Waste Water Saved
The Challenge
A leisure facility raised a call out with Dura Pump as they were having issues with one of their pump stations that was tripping out on both submersible pumps. This meant that they were unable to remove the waste off site to the main sewer, with the waste not being able to be moved off site, it needed to be attended to fast to avoid any flooding and environmental hazards.
The Solution
Dura Pump’s engineering team attended site with their fully equipped vans for meeting the requirements of a pump station. This included tripod, winch and gas monitor as well as standard spares such as float switches.
Our engineers raised both pumps through the rising water level using the guide rail system on the submersible pumps. Once the pumps were on the surface, we found that they were both ragged up as well was the pit being extremely dirty. They de-ragged the pumps, carried out electrical tests on them, re-installed the pumps and checked the rest of the system. Once re-installed they found that the pipework was split meaning that the sewage was only discharging at a low flow rate.
The Outcome
The sewage system was back up and running, saving the leisure park by removing the risk of flooding and environmental hazards. This removed additional stress and costs from our client as Dura Pump were then able to make recommendations for further repairs to the pipework to ensure the full flow could be discharged from the pump station, to provide the client with long term reliability.
