Velocity Sentinam, Multiple Pump Station Overhauls for University Campus

Having delivered the Velocity Sentinam solution to a number of education and public services establishments, we knew that the best route would be to introduce a similar solution for this customer. Each solution is tailored to the specific requirements of the site and uses advanced pump technology consisting of specially engineered wastewater pumps featuring intelligent control systems and automatic cleaning functions. We designed the system to perform in all critical environments including education, healthcare and correctional facilities.

The bespoke solution for this university customer solved these problems:

• The advanced pump technology will regularly auto clean the surface of all three pump stations to prevent buildup of fats, oil and greases (FOG). The FOG was previously causing them to block, leading to unnecessary and unwanted downtime.
• Operational inconsistency has now been eliminated by introducing adjustable start/stop controls to optimise sump cleaning. An additional benefit to the customer is that this delivers a cleaner system.
• The new industrial grade pumps now deal with high solid content effectively. A big challenge for the customer with such high usage and footfall.
• Expensive tankers were needed regularly to clear out hundreds of thousands of gallons of wastewater and blockages. Velocity Sentinam stops this reliance on tankers.

The Velocity Sentinam System

The system is an end-to-end solution, including industrial grade pumps together with Dura Pump bespoke control systems and remote monitoring. This delivers to the customer, a blockage free solution that responds to high and low usage, delivering energy optimisation through smart pumping. Any fault detection is reported in real-time, so that it can be remedied immediately. Trends are also highlighted over time so that any ongoing maintenance that may be required, can be scheduled in before any breakdown occurs.
