The Challenge

A pet food manufacturing plant approached Dura Pump for advice and guidance regarding the specification of a pump to pump gravy on their production line, and they were happy to oblige. With gravy being a key ingredient for their products, this system would be vital to the running of the plant.

Dura Pump were required to find the perfect pump solution for pumping gravy. Due to the volume of product needing to be pumped daily, it had to be very reliable and also offer a long service life.

The Solution


After a full assessment of the operation, Dura Pump decided to specify a Roto progressive cavity pump, Roto being one of the world’s most important progressive cavity pump manufacturers.

Such pumps have the main function of transferring fluids progressively and are generally used for pumping viscous materials, making it perfect for this particular purpose. The pump was constructed of stainless steel, offering strength, reliability and of course longevity.
