Rapid Repair on Failed Klargester Unit
The Challenge
Troubled with a faid Klargester unit, a new client reached out to the Dura Pump team for a reliable solution. As the Klargester unit was used for treating waste sewage, it was essential to resolve the issue as untreated sewage would have resulted in waste not discharging, and therefore having to be emptied using a vacuum tanker which is costly and time consuming.
In order to get the Klargester unit back up and running, the Dura Pump team identified the requirement for a new motor and a full service. Another key challenge was time: the customer needed a rapid turnaround to get the failed unit working again as soon as possible.
The Solution
In order to get our client’s Klargester unit up and running again, we sourced a high-performance Panasonic motor which was available within just 10 days. Upon attending the site, we installed the motor for the rotating drum, carried out a full service on the unit and tested the discharge pipework of the treatment plant to ensure it was operationally sound.
Our service checks carried out on treatment plants included:
- Operate isolation valves and check functionality
- Check operation of non-return valves
- Raise and clean pumps (if installed)
- Check and clear blockages were possible
- Check seals for leaks
- Physical check of control panel

- Check inverter faults
The Outcome
The result was a resounding success for our first-time client: within just one site visit, the treatment plant was fully operational again. Our prompt action didn’t just result in a rapid fix, but it prevented the need for vacuum tankering, which in turn helped our client save essential time and money.
