Description
What is a Dosing pump?
Dosing pumps are typically small positive displacement pumps. The pumps are designed to pump a set flow rate of chemicals or products into a system. The dosing pumps will deliver a precise flow rate of liquid (chemical or product) by a number of different methods but it normal involves drawing a measured amount into the pump and then injecting this volume of liquid into the system being dosed. This could be a tank, pipeline or production line. Dosing pumps are used in a range of applications from food manufacturing to waste water treatment.
Dosing Pumps are mostly quite small and are powered by a small electric or air motor. They are controlled most commonly by an internal pump controller but can be externally controlled. The flow rate can be altered for batch the correct amount of fluid. There is normally an on/off function, alarms and warnings for run dry.
