Booster sets are the solution to low water pressure. By installing a booster set system, you achieve a constant reliable water pressure.
- Compact Design
- Range of tank sizes
- Commercial & Domestic Applications
Usually a booster set will pump cold water, although they can pump hot water, softened water, processed water or even grey water in the case of a rainwater harvesting system. The main purpose of a cold water booster pump set is to supply water to a building, commonly where water storage is required or mains water pressure is not sufficient to reach the top of the building or to meet the demand.
For example, in the case of a tower block, the mains will only provide half a bar of pressure which amounts to roughly five metres of height when pumped. In this case, the pressurisation unit will provide enough pressure for the liquid to reach all water points. Some buildings require water storage so that there is enough water to meet demand, and some can store up to a day’s worth of water. The same type of water storage is also used as a break in a water system, as some processes can cause contamination so this helps alleviate any risk.
Low water pressure is becoming an increasingly worrying issue for citizens around the world. There are three main reasons for this:
- A consistently growing demand for more water
- A requirement for constant pressure as standard
- Water Authorities only have to guarantee a pressure of 1 bar at a simultaneous flow of 9 litres/min
Hot and Cold Water Booster Pumps are the solution to low water pressure. By installing a pump system, you achieve a constant reliable water pressure, giving you and your users a quality experience.
Designing the optimal water boosting system
Your challenge:
To ensure constant pressure, tall commercial buildings or any buildings with the requirement for water delivered efficiently face two major challenges. First, pre-pressure in water mains is rarely high enough to cover the whole building. Second, water demand changes constantly. Break tanks are typically installed to keep water on stock. However, this makes the need for pumps even more urgent as water needs to be boosted to reach different users.
This means a booster system must not only be reliable but also have the intelligence to maintain the right pressure regardless of consumption. Single booster systems, however, can result in unacceptably high pressure within the lower floors. When this happens the system needs expensive pressure relief valves that waste energy to remove excessive pressure.
Our solution:
Choosing the right pressure system depends on the height of the building and the load profile. But in most cases a zone divided system, where a number of boosters serve their own pressure zone, offers the most efficient solution. Zone divided boosters ensure no more pressure is added to the system than what is needed.
This means your building has equal water pressure to all floors without wasting energy – even under fluctuating consumption. A zone divided approach also offers the reliability of multiple pumps and ensures the system can adapt to fluctuating consumption.
Reduce energy consumption by 55% by selecting the correct Booster System for your application.
